Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Print E-mail

This wind tunnel, which is capable of boundary layer modelling, was planned and built  in the 1970s by ÉMI (Building Quality Control Institute: Építésügyi Minőségellenőrző Intézet). The boundary layer is generated by vertical spikes placed  at the beginning of the boundary-layer-generating section, and by roughness elements fixed on the ground. The low-scale model of the investigated area or building can be fixed to a 1.8 m diameter revolving table in the test section.

Since the tunnel is in the open air at present, it can only be used under convenient meteorological circumstances.
